This project centered on an old, yet charming brick fireplace inherited from previous homeowners. From early site visits and design conversations, it was clear that our clients wanted the fireplace to serve as the heart of the landscape: a place for gathering, connection, and shared experience. Our design approach focused on simple, thoughtful enhancements to improve both functionality and visual presence while honoring the character of the original structure.  Thermal bluestone caps set atop brick piers provide integrated bench seating, offering comfort and durability while framing the space. These elements also serve a dual purpose—beautifully sheltering and showcasing firewood reserves—adding warmth, texture, and practicality to the overall composition. The result is a cohesive outdoor room that elevates an existing feature into a renewed centerpiece of the landscape.
