Small • In the Ground
For this newly constructed home, the clients desired a clean, modern landscape complimented by native plantings. With a blank site as the starting point, the design focused on establishing structure, seasonal interest, and a strong sense of arrival. Carefully placed native trees, shrubs, and perennials create depth and rhythm, softening the home’s architecture while subtly screening the house from the street. Oversized planters purposefully line the porch edge, forming subtle safety barriers while acting as sculptural focal points that beautify the functional dry wells below. A modern black garden fence adds an architectural layer at the property edge, echoing the porch arbor and reinforcing the home’s clean lines. Together, these elements create a cohesive, low-maintenance landscape that seamlessly integrates design, function, and ecology.
